The ICO as a manager of European funds
The ICO develops and manages various initiatives as an Implementing Partner of the European Commission
ICO is an Implementing Partner of the European Commission, which enables it to carry out the delegated management of funds in European Union programmes under the Multiannual Financial Framework 2021-2027 and the NextGenerationEU Initiative.
InvestEU Programme
In 2023 ICO signed its first InvestEU programme guarantee agreement, for the launch of the ICO Green Deal product, a tool aimed at investing EUR 200 million in sustainable infrastructure capital and its industrial ecosystem, through the subscription of specialised investment funds, in InvestEU's Sustainable Infrastructure window.
In 2024, ICO has responded to the new InvestEU programme call by the European Commission and will sign an addendum to extend the agreement to add EUR 268 million in investments in social infrastructure, in particular social and affordable rental housing, under the SISW (Social Investments and Skills Window).

The ICO has the capacity to manage European Union funds for Spanish companies' projects that contribute to strengthening the economic recovery with a clear sustainable profile, in four main areas of action:
