Some examples of environmental investments from different sectors are highlighted below:

Renewable energy generation

Axis invests in projects for the generation and distribution of energy from renewable sources such as solar, wind and biomass. Its aim is to promote a change of energy model towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly one. Decarbonisation is a backbone of Axis' strategy.

Talasol

In operation since 2020 and with a cost and investment of €228M, Talasol is a 300 MW solar PV plant located in Talaván, Cáceres, Spain. This project, developed by Ellomay Capital, is designed to generate approximately 545 GWh of clean energy per year, avoiding around 200,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Grenergy – Escuderos

The Escuderos project, developed by Grenergy Renovables, is located in the municipalities of Altarejos and Poveda de Obispalía, in Cuenca, Spain. This solar plant has a capacity of 200 MW, an annual production of 385 GWh and 540,360 photovoltaic panels of 370 Wp.

In operation since 2021, it avoids the emission of more than 140,000 tonnes of CO2 per year.

Everwood Fondo Solar V. Proyecto para Generación Fotovoltaica

Everwood Fondo Solar V is a fund managed by Everwood Capital, dedicated to investing in renewable assets in Southern Europe. This fund aims to develop a portfolio of 1 GW of solar PV projects in Spain. The fund's projects are designed to contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions and comply with EU taxonomy.

Suma Capital Climate Impact Fund III is a sustainable investment fund managed by Suma Capital, with a target size of €300 million. This fund focuses on energy efficiency and circular economy projects, including renewable energy generation, electric mobility, biogas and biomethane production, as well as the reuse of industrial waste.

Wallapop

Wallapop is a technology platform for AI and ecommerce solutions that also enables and provides technology to individuals and small business owners. This is an example of direct investment in a company. This company has a strong circular economy component, giving a second life to many products and making new distribution channels available to consumers and SMEs.

Technologies promoting energy transition and decarbonisation

Adopting new technologies for energy transition and decarbonisation has a very useful effect. Overcoming the limitations of old technologies and using efficient innovations can reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve energy efficiency.

This private equity fund, managed by A&G, focuses on investing in technology companies that accelerate the energy transition and decarbonisation of the economy. It aims to support companies with viable and scalable technologies that contribute to the reduction of CO2 emissions.

SC Net Zero Ventures

Managed by Suma Capital in alliance with Repsol, this venture capital fund focuses on investing in startups that develop technologies to accelerate the energy transition. It aims to support companies in Europe and North America working on low-carbon mobility, industrial decarbonisation and renewable energy. Some notable investments are for example in smart chargers for electric vehicles that promote sustainable mobility.

Enion I Energy Fund

Enion I Energy Fund, managed by Enion Partners, invests in early-stage technology startups that accelerate the energy transition and climate action. The fund aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, minimise waste and improve energy efficiency.

Inclima Climate Fund I

Inclima Climate Fund I is a venture capital fund that invests in technology startups with a positive impact on climate action. It focuses on sectors such as energy, business products and services, and climate technology, with the aim of contributing to decarbonisation and inclusive economic growth.

Net Technology Ventures II (Axon)

Managed by Axon Partners Group, this fund specialises in investments in deeptech technologies that address the critical challenges of the energy transition. The fund supports companies developing innovative solutions in industrial decarbonisation, green hydrogen generation and carbon capture.

Seaya Andromeda Sustainable Tech

Seaya Andromeda is a venture capital fund focused on sustainable technologies. Its mission is to address global sustainability challenges through investments in technology companies that generate a positive and measurable impact on the environment. Its activity focuses on sectors such as energy transition, electrification of the economy, sustainable agriculture and the circular economy. Among the companies in which Seaya Andrómeda invests are a training/coaching solution for workers in industries 4.0, a waste sorting robot using artificial intelligence and a platform for buying/selling second-hand reconditioned bicycles.
